al-Fudayl ibn ‘Iyyad said: If you are asked whether you fear Allah, do not reply; for if you say ‘Yes’, you would be lying and if you say ‘No’ it would mean you do not believe in Him.

How true… May Allah SWT improve the conditions of our souls

ayesha, if someone was to ask us if we fear Allah, we should not reply because, if you were to say yes – it is a lie because we don’t truly fear Allah (due to our actions) and if we say no then that is kufr plain and simple
